Project Overview
Ahead of Art Basel, Petukhov supported Immense Audio Visual with the deployment of a multi-display LED installation built around the architecture of the venue. The system combined two four-meter LED columns wrapped around structural pillars with two 14 × 8 LED walls anchoring the room.
System
The column displays were constructed using 90-degree curved half panels, allowing the LED surfaces to wrap tightly around the existing pillars. Two additional 14 × 8 displays completed the installation, creating four distinct LED surfaces within the space.
Challenge
The venue introduced several architectural constraints that were not fully apparent until deployment. Most notably, an air vent intersected the intended footprint of one LED column, preventing the display from being built exactly as originally planned. It was a good example of why a proper technical site walk matters. Small architectural details can directly affect cabinet placement, structure, power, and ultimately the finished geometry of an LED system.
Execution
The column was adapted in the field to accommodate the obstruction while preserving the intended geometry and finished appearance. Particular attention was given to the curved transitions and 90-degree corners, where alignment errors become immediately visible. All four displays were built, aligned, and commissioned ahead of Art Basel, with the ventilation conflict integrated cleanly enough that attendees would never know the original design had to change.
Outcome
All four displays were completed in time for Art Basel, including the column affected by the unexpected site condition. The obstruction was incorporated without creating an obvious visual compromise in the finished installation, and the completed LED system read as an intentional part of the venue rather than something adapted around it.
