Nanolumens — NovaStar KU20
Project Overview
Five P2.5 direct-view LED displays were installed at the five new gates in a new wing of Des Moines International Airport. Each display uses a 4×4 cabinet layout, bringing clean, bright, easy-to-read signage to the gate area.
System
The installation includes five Nanolumens P2.5 displays, each configured as a 4×4 cabinet array and driven by NovaStar KU20 processors. The screens are integrated into the gate structures throughout the new wing.
Challenge
The biggest challenge was coordinating with other trades while the new wing was under construction. Each part of the display installation had to work with the surrounding build so the teams could finish on time.
Execution
The team installed the displays across all five gates, working alongside the other trades as the gate structures took shape. Installation sequencing and coordination kept the LED work aligned with the wider construction schedule.
Outcome
All five new gates received bright, readable LED signage. The project shows how direct-view LED can improve the visibility of information in an airport gate environment.
