D3 LED — Novastar MX40 Pro
Project Overview
Fine-pitch LED display installed for a house of worship in Texas. PETUKHOV provided field engineering, installation leadership, commissioning, and color calibration support.
System
Manufacturer: D3 LED Pixel Pitch: P2.5 Processing: NovaStar COEX MX40 Pro Configuration: 8 × 8 cabinets Cabinet Type: 16:9 Rental-Style Cabinet
Challenge
The project utilized a 16:9 rental-style cabinet platform selected for its native aspect ratio and installation flexibility. The client requested that the display not be suspended directly from the venue truss system. To accommodate this requirement, a local fabrication shop produced custom steel support members designed to interface with the flybar system. During installation it became apparent that the fabricated mounting points provided insufficient clearance for the flybars and cabinet attachment system. While the flybars could be mounted to the structure, there was not enough space for the cabinets to be properly installed.
Execution
The custom support members were removed and carefully measured in the field to determine the required clearances. Mounting openings were modified to provide the necessary spacing while maintaining structural alignment. Once the support system was adjusted and reinstalled, cabinet installation proceeded without issue. The display was assembled, commissioned, and configured using the NovaStar COEX processing platform. Additional time was dedicated to color calibration and image refinement to ensure the display felt naturally integrated into the architectural environment rather than appearing as a standalone technology element.
Outcome
The display was successfully deployed and commissioned with a clean installation, proper structural fitment, and a refined visual appearance suited to the worship environment. The client received a system that not only met the technical requirements of the project but also blended naturally into the space through careful calibration and attention to visual detail.
