Project Overview

Curved fine-pitch LED display installed in New York City's Financial District. PETUKHOV provided field engineering, installation leadership, system alignment, and commissioning support.

System

Pixel Pitch: P1.56 Resolution: 3072 × 864 Processing: 2x Novastar KU20 COEX

Challenge

The project was already underway when PETUKHOV arrived on site, with the first row of cabinets installed and the primary structure assembled. Initial inspection revealed inconsistencies in the wall geometry, including curvature alignment and 90-degree transitions that would have become increasingly visible as installation progressed. Correcting these issues after installation has begun requires working backwards through the build while maintaining alignment with the existing structure.

Execution

The wall was systematically relieved and realigned to match the original manufactured curvature. Cabinet positioning, structural tolerances, and wall brackets were adjusted to ensure every vertical transition maintained a true 90-degree alignment. Once the foundation of the installation was corrected, the remainder of the display progressed efficiently. Particular attention was given to the installation of the flexible P1.56 modules, where patience and precision were critical to maintaining the intended geometry of the display. The local installation team executed the adjustments professionally and followed the alignment process closely throughout the build.

Outcome

The display was successfully commissioned and delivered with consistent curvature, clean transitions, and accurate cabinet alignment throughout the installation. By addressing the structural alignment issues early in the deployment, the final display achieved the appearance originally intended by the design while avoiding compromises that would have become visible in the finished product.
